Courtyard Garden
The Court Garden next to the New Palace is called our city’s “Green Lung”. Today, the park serves as a place of repose for anybody in need of a little break. However, it has not always been the case that the citizens were able to use the avenues lined with chestnut and oak trees, the wide lawns with groves of old trees and gravel paths winding along calming water features. Originally, the Court Garden was restricted to the Margrave Court and its guests; in 1790, the park finally opened to the public.
